Abstract

The project report focuses on 2-dimensional ray tracing approach that may be extended to a 3-D cabin like cavity. A geometric approach is presented for tracing the ray from the source to the destination between two walls in 2-D as well as in a Cartesian rectangle. The expressions thus derived and the approach developed are used in developing the code to find the points of incidence and the corresponding angles of incidence for N bounces of the ray on the surfaces. Intensity of the ray at every bounce is also evaluated and corresponding plots are obtained to observe the relation among the various EM related parameters. The losses are determined w.r.t metal and dielectric materials and the reflected and transmitted power patterns are studied.
