Abstract

Fiber reinforced composites are being extensively used for aircraft structural application by virtue of their attractive properties. The composite components are prone for damages during its service life. There is a need to repair these damaged components. this involves careful assessment of damage, design and fabrication of repair patch and its implementation for effectiveness or repair. Special reference is made to repair metallic structures with composites and ABDR procedures. Quality assurance and non-destructive evaluation plays a vital role in these repair schemes. This report discussed the above aspects that need to be addressed while tackling composite repairs.
