Abstract

The interaction of flexible srtucture with flowing fluid in which it is submerged or by which it is surrounded gives rise to a rich variety of physical phenomenon with applications in many fields of engineering. To understand these phenomena aircraft, wind turbine may give rise to oscillating forces on the structure and the resulting dynamic deformation of the structure may in turn modify these aerodynamic forces. The fluid structure interaction is studied by modeling both flued (using Panel code) and structure (using ANSYS) successfully. The aerodynamic analysis of the AGARD 445.6 wing with symmetrical aerofoil section is performed and the air loads calculated from the panel code are used for the structural analysis. The off-line flued structure coupling is established in the present work. The result of the Model analysis show that the fundamental modes and mode shapes match with the published results. It is also sown that there is effect of speed of rotation on the fundamental nature frequencies. There is more variation in the fourth fundamental frequency as compared to the other three.
