Abstract

The Structural Integrity Division (SID) of NAL had initiated a project on the total technical life extension of MiG-29 aircraft sponsored by Indian Air Force. The prediction of fatigue life of an aircraft structure requires the estimation of aerodynamic loads acting on the structure for different flight conditions. These loads can be estimated using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools. A vertex based three-dimensional Euler code JUEL3D has been employed to compute these loads at different flight conditions so as to enable the simulation of these aerodynamic loads in the laboratory. The Mach number ranges fiom 0.1 to 1.5 and ande of attack ranges fiom -1.5" to 12'. Computations have been carried out on multi-block structured grids generated using the GRIDGEN software.
