Abstract
With an aim to improve the performance of a multistage LP compressor, one of the stator blades has been re-designed with the controlled diffusion aerofoil (CDA) sections under specified geometrical and flow constraints. The methodology is based on geometric construction of CDA profiles and CFD flow simulation on these profiles of the blade sections. One of CDA designs of the blade (Design-3) has shown improvements in efficiency, pressure ratio and stall margin for the compressor as compared to the original blade of MCA sections.
