Abstract
The present study is aimed at calculation of three different wall bounded two-dimensional13; turbulent flow situations, viz., fully developed flow through a plane channel, flow through a plane13; asymmetric diffuser and flow past an airfoil by solving Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes (RANS)13; equations coupled to different eddy-viscosity based turbulence models. The turbulence models tested in13; the present study are low Reynolds number version of the k-x3B5; model of Chien [2], k-x3C9; model of Wilcox13; [11], Shear Stress Transport model of Menter [7] as a weighted combination of k-x3B5; and k-x3C9; model and13; the simplified second moment closure based k x2212;x3B5; x2212; v 2 x2212; f (so-called V2F model) model of Durbin [3].13; The relative performance of these different turbulence models is assessed through comparison of the13; computation results to corresponding DNS and/or measurement data, available in unclassified literature.
