    Abstract

    A 2.5quot; diameter six-component High Axial force integral strain gauge balance is designed for force and moment measurements on aircraft type wind tunnel models. The concept of balance design involves sizing, shaping and locating measuring elements appropriately to ensure accuracy of measurements. This paper highlights the balance design concept and constructional features, approach of design to stress analysis and surface strain response and issues encountered during realization of the balance.
