Pai, BR and Ramachandran, BR and Velpari, V and Balasubramanian, N (1984) Preparation of boron trichloride. 13;. Indian Journal of Technology, 22 (6). pp. 233-235.Full text not available from this repository.
Boron trichloride was prepared by chlorinating pellets made from a mixture of borax, activated charcoal and starch at 850 degree C. The use of starch instead of coal tar pitch as binder during pellet making resulted in a higher yield of BCl//3. The factors governing the yield were studied in detail.
