Abstract
Beta quenched samples of Ti-6. 7 wt%Cu were aged at 923K for different times. The martensite decomposes by compositional fluctuations leading to the formation of a metastable phase before attaining the equilibrium Ti//2Cu structure. Aging at higher temperature (998K - 1053K) resulted in both lamellar and nonlamellar precipitates.
