Abstract

This paper presents the results of real time aircraft parameter estimation technology in an aircrafi real time simulator. The equation error Recursive Least Squares (RLS) method is used for performing the parameter estimation. The RLS technique is successfully adapted for on-line parameter estimation y(t) Observation vector by a novel methodology that when measurements of state derivatives are not available. Subsequently, the algorithm is implemented in LabVIEW and in digitdl signal processor (DSP) hardware to demonstrate its suitability for further implementation at flight test centers and for on-board parameter estimation for aircraft.
