The problem of target tracking using sensor measurements in clutter is of considerable interest in military applications such as radar and systems, indigenous missile testing, tracking different hostile missiles, aircraft and helicopters. It has also found use in nonmilitary applications such as robotics, air traffic control and surveillance. In practice, scenarios for target tracking could include maneuvering targets, crossing targets and splitting targets.Various algorithms are applied to achieve target tracking in these scenarios the selection of the algorithms is highly application dependent.
