Abstract

Higher harmonic ac polarography is useful for investigating electrode reactions and for analysis. For these applications it would be desirable to use the inphase and quadrature components of higher harmonics. The simplest way of measuring these components is to use the technique of lock-in amplification. This method requires reference square waves of known phase and period 1/f//s, 1/2f//s, 1/3f//s, etc. This paper describes the use of phase-locked loop (PLL) for generating these reference signals.
