The necessity to reassess what is meant by the second spectrum and where and in what context it has to be assigned a separate meaning are considered presenting evidence that its usefulness is mainly to interpret the results obtained from an application of the Timoshenko beam theory to distinguish a set of physically meaningful results from a set that may only be an aberration arising from the structure of this beam theory.13;
