    Abstract

    Preliminary studies on modeling the lateral dynamics of a ground based vehicle and extraction of its stability and control derivatives are presented. Development of the instrumentation package for collecting the drive test data of a test vehicle as required by the model is described. Modified Equation Error Method (MEEM) has been utilised for estimating the parameters from the measured input and output data of a drive test. The parameters have been used to simulate the responses and are compared with the measured responses.
