Abstract
The structure of the hypersonic laminar boundary layer of an ideal dissociating gamp;s far from the wall surface has been analysed both analytically and numerically for two cases viz. (i) frozen flow and (ii) equilibrium flow corresponding to the local pressure and temperature, respectively. It has been observed that the transition zone which exists in the perfect gas case is smeared out, due to the coupling between the13; imperfect nature of the gas and the viscosity of the gas.
