    Abstract

    This report outlines the details of the mechanical design of13; some of the components for the transonic compressor research rig. Details of design criterion and design data used for the rotor system as well as other components have been given. The final design chosen was very much influenced by the overall assembly limitations imposed and the compromise that had to be made in order to satisfy most of the requirements. A note on different designs envisaged during the course of the work has also been included with their relevant merits. Some of them could be used as an alternative design when testing rotors of different hub/tip ratios.
