Abstract
The use of gasified coal as a fuel for gas turbines is of13; considerable interest because it combines the benefits of an13; abundant and cheap source of fuel and a turbine plant of low13; capital cost. Some problems were anticipated on the combustion13; aspects, due to the low calorific value of gasified coal resulting in high volumetric flow rates and small combustion space available in aircraft type combustion chambers.
