    Abstract

    The design of a contraction suitable for use in the13; transonic/supersonic Cascade Wind Tunnel under fabrication in the Propulsion Division is presented in this report. Brief description of the method followed by the computational procedure and the results are presented. Several contours have been worked out for optimization and final selection. Based on electrical analogy and boundary layer characteristics a set of contours has been chosen to be optimum. A model based on these profiles has been tested qualitatively and the results were found to be good of the full scale contraction. This has been the basis for the fabrication of the full scale contraction, the programme is available with the authors.
