Abstract
Measurements of bluff body and aerodynamic flameholder13; under temperatures, under simulated afterburner13; conditions have been made. The effects of afterburner13; operating variables such as the Inlet Mach number,13; temperature and fuel-air ratio on measured flameholder13; temperatures have bees presented. It has been further demonstrated that, under identical operating the temperatures of the aerodynamic flameholder are than significantly less those of an equivalent V-guttor, while retaining identical, et ability .characteristics with the inherent advantage of a negligible dry pressure loss. Consequently* the aerodynamic flameholder will havxAB; a better operating life as compared to a bluff body flameholder, in addition to its other significant advantage.
