Abstract
Quantitative estimates of moisture absorption by the polymer13; PPTA indicate that the less crystalline and the less oriented13; samples absorb more moisture. X-ray patterns from dry and saturated KEVLAR fibres suggest that the water molecules do not enter the unit cell.
