Abstract
The feasibility of substituting ammonia in alkaline electroless nickel bath has been investigated. It is shown that ethylene diamine can be used instead of ammonia. However, such a bath has a narrow operating range. It is found that ethanolamines in general and triethanola mine in particular are useful substitutes for ammonia in citrate based alkaline electroless baths.
