Abstract
The determinationof wear metals in certain used automobile engine oil and aircraft engine oils by atomic absorption spectrophotometric method is described. Preparation of synthetic metal naphthenates for calibration is described. The evolved procedures are found to have the required sensitivity for analysing wear metals at ppm and sub ppm concentrations.
