Abstract
A simple method i s presented t o determine the skin13; friction from the measured two dimensional turbulent boundary layer velocity profile, law of the wall region.13; position of the point at which the straight line representing The method is based on the logrithmic13; It is found that the variation of the the logrithrnic law meets the (U/ u.,) axis when log ('k-z)/3 )is equal to zero is small for a range of Cf values.present method is based on this characteristic. The method can be used with assumed or known values of logrithmic law constants, A8.B. The procedure can also be adopted to obtain Cf,profile. The assumptions regarding the logrithmic law constant sand the reference point srequired in the us of other methods based on velocity profile, e.g. Clauser Plot, Bradshaw's method are eliminated. Aamp;B to match the measured velocity13; As anincidental result, the values of k5.44 and B= 5.13 in the logrithmic law were derived by applying the displacement correction and the wall effect to the Preston13; tube measurement.
