Abstract
A precision system for the continuous and rapid measurement of absolute thermoelectric power (TEP) under controlled conditions of temperature and pressure has been developed. The design is centered around a fourth order polynomial curve fitting circuit which enables (a) linearisation of thermocouple-temperature characteristic (b) simulates the variation with temperature of the relative TEP of the thermocouple and the absolute13; TEP of either of the constituents. Some typical data on the absolute TEP of cerium across the y-a transition will be presented to demonstrate the performance of this system.
