Abstract
Ihis report describes the development of a freeosci13; Hation rig for pitch-damping measurements on halfmodels13; in the ML 1-ft tunnel. 1 crossed-flexure pivot mounting in conjionction with a quot;boundary .layer plate and a mechanically actuated model locMng-cw-triggerins device are the main features of the rig. Eig-evaluation tests were conducted on a 25xB0; included angle cone and the basic firmer models at subsonic anl transonic speeds and also at M = 2.0 and 2.48. A favourable comparison with other full model test results validatad the present half-model measurements.
