Abstract
The report deals with the computer aided evaluation of frequency domain handling qualities (HQ) criteria for modern aircraft. To evaluate the pilot-in-the-loop criterion (Neal-Smith, Relax Static Stability or other related criteria) a vector optimisation technique has been employed. This technique enables the user to directly obtain tha required results (including graphical output) in a systematic manner without any trial and error. The interactive software package is flexible as it allows the designer to specify his requirements and handling qualities bounds by suitably selecting the performance index vector elements. This feature is important as the HQ Specifications for modern aircraft are yet to be well defined and are strongly dependent on the configuration/task.
