    Abstract

    Multigrid technique is a mathematical method which when13; implemented for the numerical solution of partial differential equations in computer program, reduces the CPU13; time for the solution to be obtained. This technique increases the rate of convergence to obtain the solutions. This report outlines the basic principles of the multigrid approach and its terminologies. Application of these principles, starting from Laplace Equation over a rectangle to Full Potential Equation over an airfoil in the grid considered have been discussed and the results obtained for different cases have been reported. This report is prepared in a tutorial fashion for the beginners to know about the technique and also to readers familiar with computational methods.
