Abstract
A typical axisymmetric body of revolution whose cross sectional13; area is derived from practical configuration is chosen and calculation is done for flow past it in the transonic regime using conservative and non-conservative finite difference scheme. Comparison of wave drag coefficients (which is a gross comparison) shows that except for narrow range of Mach number, the two computations yield almost same value of CDW but whenever the difference is significant, conservative scheme calculation agrees better with the experimental results.
