Abstract
This report discusses in brief the rationale for selection of sites under Wind Monitaring project of D.N.E.S. in respect of Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan. The basis of selection is stated to be in terms of existing wind speed data, large scale geo-climatic factors, local topography, spot observations and inferences through comparison with studies made in other states. A total of 18 sites are discussed.
