    Abstract

    An all composite GFRP wing of the proposed NAL Light Aircraft (HALLA) is designed using a combination of i) Finite element method ii)Strength of materials approach and iii) PC based software for optimisation of layup scheme. The FEM package is utilised to evaluate the internal forces in the global level and the PC based programs are used in the local level for evaluating the layer strains. stresses and safety factors. This methodology has proved to be quite effective for composite wing design.
