Abstract
When Mo is estimated in steels by the thiocyanate method, there are problems of irreproducibility of values and fading of colour with time . the absrobance Results of the investigations on these problems are presented here . It is found that, if thiocyanate is contaminated with water, it causes the decomposition of molybdenum-thiocyanate of stannous chloride .
