Abstract
The dynamics of a group of point vortices is studied numerically using several numerical integration schemes.13; From numerical experiments it is concluded that the13; computations must be dope with extreme care ( high precision and very small time steps of integration). Further, the two most frequently used schemes - the Euler and the Runge-Kutta - are inappropriate for the problem. In particular, and surprisingly, the Runge-Kutta scheme is inferior to the Euler scheme for a given time step of integration.
