    An extended Kalman filter (EKF) algorithm is implemented on UNIVAC 1100/70. As an example, the longitudinal states, characterising the short period dynamics of an aircraft are obtained from noisy measured data.13; 13; This algorithm, with minor modifications and the incorporation of a stiff differential equation solution algorithm, could be implemented for extraction of stability and control derivatives from noisy flight test, data.
