Abstract
We give a simple algorithm for hole counting, where holes are disconnected regions dened by some criterion, e.g. the value of an attribute lower than a cuto value. Hole counting or object counting is required in various image processing applications, such as in medical imaging, material science, chemistry, geophysics etc.13;
