Abstract
A 32-channel Flight Data Recorder is designed and13; fabricated to acquire data during Flight testing of Light Canard Research Aircraft fabricated at NAL. It is designed to operate from the power deri ved from the battery of the aircraft. This instrument consists of four functional parts l.controller13; 2.Data acquisition module 3.Digital Magnetic tape transport 4.Hand held key board console. Controller is 8085 micro-processor based system with associated peripherals. Burr-Brown Corporation's MP 32-BG LSI chip13; is used as data acquisition module. The controller is used to control this data acquisition module, tape trans port and a hand held console. Hand held console enables to control tape motion to log in data, to load house keeping data and real time information. MFE Corporation Is digital cassette trans port is used as tape deck to store data.13; Data stored on tape is read by another Micro-processor based unit into Masscomp computer through parallel port.
