Abstract
A study of high order accurate (beginning with atleast second order schemes) non-oscillatory schemes, (henceforth called high resolution schemes) was undertaken with a view to develop an Euler code for 2-d inviscid computations for airfoil like geometries. During the initial phase of study a 1-D Euler code was developed to evaluate the performance of higher than second order accurate schemes such as UNO13; (Harten et.al. 1987) and second order schemes such as Harten TVD (Harten 1983), symmetric TVD, and Harten-Yee TVD (Yee 1989) schemes as applied to the shock tube problems, ie. 1-D Riemann problems. Details of these schemes will be described in forthcoming reports.
