    Abstract

    This work deals with the development of a pressure based13; flows with for prediction of 2D compressible system using non-orthogonal body fitted coordinate cell-centred copplex irre- variable arrangement and gular geometri.e_s. It Cartesian velocities for is based on the famous Semi Implicit Pressure Linked Equations (SIMPLE) algorithm of P3tankar amp; Spalding. A code in FORTRA .d 77 already exists for code the computation of 2D incompressible, turbulent flows. This high has been modispeed flows fied to account for compressible effects of and tested subsonic, uccessfully transonic and for 1D flow in variable area duct for upersonic ranges of Mach number . A few 2D flow situations have also been computed and the results have bean presented . The pressure based algorithm has been wide range of Mach able to handle prediction of flows for a wide range of Mach numbers .
