    Abstract

    Rotor blades represent an important component of a wind turbine. It is necessary to carefully design the blades to suit specific requirements from the point of view or its aerodynamic output, structural integrity, manufacturing techniques and costs. A finished blade has to be tested to validate the design methods used and also to ensure that it is free of any manufacturing defects. This reports describes some of the design and manufacturing methods that are used in practice for composite blades and the tests that are carried out on prototype blades as per the limited information available in the literature.
