Abstract
In this paper, an overview has been made of the problems associated13; with residual life assessment of ageing aircrafts. The need13; to constitute a National Team to handle ageing aircraft structural13; integrity programme in the country has been stressed. A methodology13; to assess corrosion-fatigue interactions in aged aircraft13; structures has been enumerated and some of the infrastructural13; facilities available in the country to undertake such task have been13; described. It is urged that a concerted effort be put by all concerned13; to build indigenous know-how and a confidence level to13; assess and extend residual life of the ageing fleet of aircrafts in13; the country.
