Abstract
Some of the existing flux-vector splitting schemes in one- and two- dimensions are catalogued to serve as a ready refe- rence. Remarks are made on some striking similarities between splitting derived from a quot;waveparticlequot; (physical) approach I and the van Leer splitting whose derivation appears to have been motivated by algebraic and continuity (non-physical considerations.
