Abstract
Presenting a paper in a seminar or a conference, writing a technical13; journal, writing technical reports, giving an inaugural address,13; writing a book, making a technical presentation, giving invited or popular lectures13; etc. are an important activity in any organisation, more so if it is a Ramp;D13; institution like NAL. A key office like the Director's Office, moving towards a13; paperless office and laying greater emphasis on office automation, must have13; an efficient way of keeping track of such important events, so that information13; retrieval on any of these events is easily possible. This document describes a13; database formulation, using FoxBASE, for a publication information system for13; the Director's Office. The Publications Database has been broadly classified into13; 15 different categories for quick information retrieval, with a flexibility in the13; database structure to accommodate newer categories as and when the need arises.
