Abstract
A numerical Investigation of the fatigue cracelkecloesure phenomenon is performed by13; plastic finite element analysis. hanstic-pinstic finite software was written to consider most aspects effecting pla1ticity'indiwe l crack closure. Linear and power-law hardening models are13; considered in the finite element analysis. The paper presents results from the study carried out13; on compact tension (CT) coupons at various crack lengths corresponding to different leading con- ditions. Finally the results of analysis tire compared with the experimental estimate of Intigno13; crack closure levels obtained from layer intorforornetry, scanning electron and transmission electron13; frnctorrnphv presented in part I of this paper on identical specimens.
