    Abstract

    This report presents the research and development carried out to apply fuzzy logic system (type 1 and type 2) for image fusion. It covers fuzzy logic operator/operations in the context of image fusion. EO and LWIR images obtained from EVS prototype are utilised for the study. The fused image is evaluated for various design cases for FLS type 1 and IT2FLS. Based on qualitative and analytical analysis, it is concluded that IT2FLS performs better than FLS type1 and in general Sugeno based FLSs are better than Mamdani based FLSs. In future it is intended to use FLS based image fusion technique for ESVS application.
