Abstract
The failure of a reheat fuel pump was analysed. The roller bearing and the light alloy cage had been badly damaged. Dimensional differences in the component assembly caused relative displacement of the inner race, cage and the rolling elements with respect to the outer race. This in turn caused the failure of the roller bearing and cage.
