Abstract
These notes provide a brief Introduction to the C programming language. The approach used in describing the language consists of introducing several concepts by means of complete programs that have been tested using ANSI C compiler. The notes were derived from a set of informal lectures offered to an audience with sufficient programming experience using Fortran. An attempt has been made to introduce some concepts of structured programming and Object Oriented Programming. These notes, however, are not intended to demonstrate the underlying power of C. quot;
