    Abstract

    The problem of maximizing the fundamental13; frequency of a thin walled beam with coupled bending13; and torsional modes has been studied in this paper. An13; optimality criterion approach has been used to locate13; stationary values of an appropriate objective function13; subject to constraints. Optimal designs with and without13; coupling have been discussed.
