Abstract
Fully developed two-dimensional incompressible13; turbulent boundary lbvers in the13; presence of pressure gradient over moving13; wavy surfaces for the case of driven wall13; motion is studied numerically. The cmput13; ted solution indicates strong interaction13; between the unsteady wave-induced flow and13; the time averaged rean flow at a certajn13; discrete wavenumber for a given phase13; speed of the driven interface. Both favourable13; and adverse pressure gradient cases13; indicate skin friction reduction. However,13; for the adverse pressure gradient case,13; the interaction becomes stroncer, tending13; to drastically reduce the skin friction13; and in certain rases, converged results13; are not obtained for high wavenumbers13; irrespective of their amplitudes. However,13; the present approach indicates a possible13; management of viscous drag in a qualitative13; way.
