    Abstract

    This document is a project proposal submitted to Aeronautics Research and Development Board under the grants-in-aid scheme. T aim of the Project is design,fabrication and testing of composite rudder for an aircraft. With extensive use of carbon -epoxy as the basic material and full depth honeycomb, it is expected that weight savings should be possible apart from the other advantages of FRP materials. The proposed project is also a technology demonstration program in respect of use of advanced composites in actual aircraft structural-hardware.
