Abstract
The report presents a description of the wind tunnel tests conducted on a 0 .031 scale model of ASLV to study the characteristics of the separation trajectories of the two strap-on boosters at a Mach number of 2 .3. These studies which complement the two earlier phases of testing is the last in the series to determine the separation trajectories of the strap-on boosters . A special test rig that permitted the required three degrees of freedom to each of the two boosters was utilized for the tests . The separation trajectories were determined by the time march technique. For the- two sets of parameters considered for the present tests, namely, the nominal and the, off-nominal cases, it was found that the separation of both, the leeward and the windward boosters occured without any collision with the core vehicle.
