Abstract
Ceramic linings for metal pipes and shaped castings of metals and alloys are produced by carrying out thermit reactions under the influence of centrifugal force . The adiabatic temperature, self propagation and the combustion velocity of the thermit reaction are effected when the reaction is diluted with the product phases . The dilution has profound effect on these properties of the reaction when the ceramic product phase of the reaction is used as inert diluent .
